Women’s stories
“I wish we had done this a long time ago.”
Jeanne has three children and works part-time as a nurse. She had a normal menopause
at 45, and her doctor put her on Premarin and a synthetic progesterone to relieve
her symptoms. She came to us at 56 because she had symptoms of hormonal imbalance
despite the HRT — the worst were joint stiffness, fatigue and irritability
— and she was afraid to stay on her Premarin because of the health risks of
HRT.
Jeanne signed up for the 90-day version of the Personal Program to get off HRT.
We first spoke about three weeks into the Program. She had already noticed significant
mprovement in all her symptoms. She had read and understood the weaning instructions
in her new member shipment and was already well underway.
The next time we talked, about a month later, Jeanne was at the halfway point in
her weaning schedule. All her symptoms were better, and she was so happy. She said
her energy and mood were terrific. She also said her husband told her, “Boy,
I wish we had done this a long time ago.” That’s when he got on the
Program too — he takes his Essential Nutrients every day!
We spoke again recently and it was a joy to hear her news. She is completely off
HRT and has really mastered the Program. We asked if she had noticed her symptoms
trying to come back when she stopped the HRT completely, and she said yes, she had,
but she just made sure she was diligent with the program and watched her triggers.
She said something that’s true for so many women who are successful in getting
off HRT: “This transition isn’t easy — you have to want it.”
Her holidays were wonderful. They had about 50 relatives coming and going at her
home and she said she felt great. She doesn’t feel tired or bogged down anymore,
that’s what made this holiday season so different for her. That’s such
a great sign when we hear a member talk like that. She’s in control again.
