“Finding Women to Women was like striking gold...”
Brooke is a 48-year-old freelance scriptwriter who wrote us last year after just
three months on the Personal Program. She spoke movingly of turning her “moderately
good” health into “full well-being,” and promised to keep in touch.
We recently received this eloquent update from Brooke on her one-year anniversary
on the program. When you read it you’ll see why our Members are our greatest
inspiration!
“Dear Folks at Women to Women,
“At three months into my Personal Program, I wrote to tell you ‘how
good I was feeling,’ and that I would continue to keep you posted. That was
in 2006. This week will mark my one-year anniversary of working with you and being
committed to your products and my Personal Program. I’ve always believed that
with any big change one makes, a year’s time is a great measure for perspective
on how those changes have taken hold in your life. I will try to articulate:
“One year ago, a full commitment to my well-being was at the forefront of
my intention to begin my journey with you. I think I speak for most women when I
say that we frame up time in terms of a month-to-month thought process. Being creatures
of monthly cycles, this makes total sense. For me, I found that my sense of wellness,
balance, and physical comfort and vitality had shrunk down from two weeks out of
every month (cycle), to one week. The fact that I’d settled for even two weeks
out of every month, for so long, was the real awakening for me once I’d opened
up my thinking to ‘It doesn’t have to be this way.’
“Shortly after that, I found WomentoWomen.com and I knew that I had found
the information, help, inspiration and new way of living that I’d been seeking
to create, and finally ALLOWED myself to find.
“I’m 48 and still have fairly regular cycles. I’d always had PMS
symptoms — from moderate to extreme over the years depending upon each month’s
outside stressors, and of course, how well I was taking care of myself in terms
of healthy thinking, healthy eating, and exercise. A balancing act for sure. One
that I always felt was much bigger than me, and at best, I would manage whatever
was dealt to me in a particular month. From adult acne to incredible mood swings,
depression, low energy, very sore breasts, bloating, and night sweats — and
the list goes on — I definitely felt like a victim when it came to my hormones.
The symptoms of perimenopause, as I’ve come to understand, are just a worsening
of the PMS symptoms. You bet I felt that escalation, but again, I was so used to
all the discomfort, and the limitation of each month, that I thought, ‘Well,
I’ll just have to deal with a little more.’ Crazy, huh? Flash forward
one year...
“I am proud and thrilled to tell you that I am a different person —
both in my thinking about myself, and in my body. My symptoms are gone for the most
part. No kidding. They’d disappeared within three months of being on my Personal
Program, and remain so with each passing month. Miraculously, I no longer think
on a month-to-month basis (as much as I did, anyway). Physically, each day, I feel
balanced and comfortable, and truly, my periods sneak up on me sometimes —
that’s how much I’m not marking my calendar in terms of how good or
bad I’m feeling.
“In other words, feeling good is the status quo for me these days, to the
extent that I’ve almost forgotten what it was like before I began my Personal
Program. I’m a stickler for taking my Essential Nutrients twice a day as prescribed.
I think they are superb, and at an approximately two-dollar-a-day investment, I
think they are the BEST beauty/health secret and deal available on the market for
women. Makes sense that my hair, nails and skin would improve, but wow, remarkably
so! With the help and support of your counselors, I have learned to listen to my
body and trust that I know when I’m balanced. The dietary changes I made a
year ago, as suggested through your program, have held for me. Only because I’ve
felt so much better the longer I adhere to them.
“Removing caffeine and processed sugar (as much as possible) from my diet
has made a big difference. And I enjoy eggs most mornings for breakfast! Protein,
protein, protein — gets me through the day with energy and really cuts out
those sugar cravings (empty carbohydrates) that I’d had before. Sure, I indulge
myself every now and then, but I recognize those indulgences as a ‘special
treat’ rather than the norm.
“The victim is gone. I’m in charge. I’ve turned several women
friends on to Women to Women, not because I was trying to ‘sell’ them,
but because they saw and felt the difference in me. My husband, too, is taking better
care of himself as a result of my intention and example. He agrees with the dietary
knowledge I’ve implemented, and we pretty much eat alike now. Makes things
much simpler, in terms of shopping and cooking, that’s for sure. And lastly,
I will add that our relationship is so much more fun and easy. Makes sense —
there’s no longer a crazy woman bashing about the house for two or three weeks
out of the month!
“I expressed my gratitude to all of you last year, and along with my sense
of well-being, that feeling of appreciation for all that you represent and promote
continues to expand. Finding Women to Women was like striking gold — with
the greatest treasure of all being that I’ve really learned to take care of
myself, and when you KNOW that you can do that, life becomes pretty glorious.
