Women’s stories

Dora’s story:
“I felt an enormous change.”

“I have a nursing background and I approach my health with a lot of common sense and medical knowledge. I had been diagnosed with IBS [irritable bowel syndrome] for quite a while, but a few years ago I started feeling distended and bloated all the time. I was very uncomfortable and it was very destructive.

“I’m a mother of three with a full-time job that includes a lot of travel. My life is already hectic — my symptoms just put me over the edge. I went to see my doctor. He put me on Metamucil cookies, which were expensive and ineffective.

“I did some reading and decided that I was going through perimenopause. My doctor agreed. Knowing this was helpful, but it didn’t alleviate my intense feelings of discomfort. I felt a little crazy, very unattractive, and frankly, miserable all the time.

“Around this time I kept hearing about the link between estrogen and cancer. I didn’t want to go on hormones but I was getting desperate. I was on the road one day when I heard an ad for the Personal Program. I called and talked to someone and decided to try it.

“My package came the day I went in for a minor operation. I was home recovering but I felt awful. I decided that now was as good a time as any to take the Essential Nutrients. Within three days I felt better. I felt an enormous change. The bloating and distension went away — not entirely — but most of the time. My constipation went away.

“I told a friend with similar symptoms and she had the same response. I started to realize how dehydrated I was and that I needed to drink more.

“I think the Program has the right combination of nutrients to give women what they need as they age. I’ve taken supplements before but I don’t think they were the same quality. They weren’t being absorbed or they weren’t addressing my body’s deficits.

“The Program also suits my lifestyle. The packets are convenient and the pills are easy to take. I like having the nurse call to check in and answer my questions. It’s too hard for me to follow the diet plan right now. Maybe someday when I have more time I will. For now, I’m so happy with my results I wouldn’t part with the Program for anything.”

[Note: Dora recounted this to us on the one-year anniversary of starting her Personal Program.]
