Women’s stories
“Good health is the greatest reward.”
Marguerite was having frightening, troubling symptoms of anxiety and hormonal imbalance. She went to a local clinic, only to be told she was in menopause — at age 35! After doing her own research on our website and talking with a Nurse–Educator, Marguerite recognized PCOS for what is was and began her Personal Program. Now she’s feeling 100% better, inspiring her to help others. She wrote to tell us all about it.
“I would like to share the encouragement Women to Women has provided me, because there are many younger women like me who could benefit from natural alternatives. Before I found you I wasn’t feeling too bad, but I hadn’t had a period in four months, either. I knew I wasn’t pregnant, so something clearly wasn’t right.
“My periods have been irregular all my life, but never four months apart. I did a search on the internet on the subject of irregular periods, and up came the Women to Women website. I read all sorts of articles there, and the more I read about the various problems women can have as a result of hormonal imbalance, the more polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) seemed to nail my symptoms.
“Then I read about your Personal Program and the thing that convinced me to try it was the bona fide guarantee that you would completely refund my money if my symptoms didn’t improve — even if I used all the product!
“I was impressed with that, so I ordered the Program and got started. Your Nutritional Guidelines made complete sense, and the dietary changes were not hard changes for me to make. I was able to stop the craving–crash cycle easily. And the cholesterol section helped my hubby, who’s been battling with that for years.
“For the first month, I did not see an immediate difference, but I had also undergone two carpal tunnel surgeries, one after another, 30 days apart, which caused a lot of physical stress. Then my hubby lost his job, we lost our house as a result, and the emotional stress kicked in.
“My symptoms grew: I became extremely dizzy, couldn’t remember what I was doing for more than a few minutes, and started crying at every little upset. I had an overwhelming dread of dying and thought I was losing my mind. I actually took myself in to the ER one night because I could not understand what was happening to me.
“Well, I started working with two local women’s clinics to help figure this out. But they were just so discouraging — to be told at 35 that I was going through menopause, may never be the same, and may never have children again wasn’t much help. Then I decided to schedule a consultation with the Nurse–Educators at the Personal Program — what a blessing!
“The nurse I spoke with encouraged me to hang in there, and gave me some facts on bloodwork I could have to determine whether I was truly menopausal. The lab results showed that my progesterone level had plummeted, and I learned from your website that progesterone supports hormonal balance ... and that was the root of all my symptoms.
“Once I started increasing my endocrine support, I was amazed. I was nowhere near menopause, as it turned out! I lost 26 pounds and became pregnant within two months. Your website said PCOS is often temporary, and so mine was. I found it was possible to heal myself without surgery, like so many PCOS books and doctors suggest. And I was able to change my eating habits, which helped my husband, too.
“I feel blessed and empowered by the encouragement and information I received, and from what I had read. I’ve learned how important it is to educate yourself and take your health into your own hands as much as you possibly can. There is a lot of help out there, but you have to be willing to do the work and not always buy into the quick-fix with prescription meds or surgery.
“Good health is the greatest reward, and now I’m all set to navigate menopause — when I do eventually get there. My Nurse–Educator at the Personal Program was the only one who encouraged and reassured me that I was going to be okay, and that was the best part of all. I’ve never had a health scare like that before, so it was a very frightening time — and the support was a lifesaver.
“Now I’m on a mission to help women around me. I’m dismayed by how many of my female friends, family members, and neighbors have symptoms that they either ignore or treat with methods that suspend the symptoms without addressing the root cause. Thank you so much for being there, thank you for caring about women, and thank you for having links to your website in all the places you do.”
