Women’s stories

Every symptom was “severe.”

Though she’s only in her early 50’s, Cindy has had her share of suffering, both in terms of health problems and family tragedy. She’s had a total hysterectomy and other operations. Not surprisingly, she’s been on multiple medications, some for an extended time.

Cindy came to us about six months after taking herself off HRT. On her health screener she checked every symptom in the “severe” column, but she was most concerned about her insomnia, hot flashes and feelings of depression.

We first spoke to her just a few weeks after she joined the Personal Program. She reported no noticeable improvement, but understood that her body would take time to heal. Her attitude was upbeat and receptive. In a short phone call we identified many things she could do to give her body extra support early in the Program.

We didn’t get to speak again until about ten weeks into her Program. She had started to see some improvement in all of her symptoms and was very encouraged. She had even cut out chips and sweets!

We next spoke when Cindy had been in the Program for a little over four months. She told us that unfortunately she had needed vascular surgery a couple of weeks before our call. She had been feeling remarkably well, but the surgery of course was a setback.

Even so, Cindy focused on the positive — on working her way back to the state of well-being she felt just before the surgery. She recognizes the dramatic progress she’s made since she started the Program. “I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown,” she told us. And she’s recommending the Program to her friends and family.

For many women, the Personal Program is a slow healing process, not a quick fix. But with her willingness to make changes, and her determination to keep going, Cindy is now enjoying the results she wanted. She’s a great example for all of us to follow.

"Now I have freedom from worry..."

Bea, 41 and one of nine girls in her family, was told by two different doctors that she should have a hysterectomy. Four of her eight sisters had already had one, but she was determined not to. She'd suffered from irregular periods and heavy bleeding since her periods began, and in 2005 was told she had a uterine fibroid.
