“Everyone deserves a fighting chance!”
Fiona, 58, started having occasional arrhythmias in her early 40’s. Her doctor told her that she had hypothyroidism and she was put on Synthroid. Gradually things got worse and she was waking up in the middle of the night worried about her heart. It seemed like every time she went to the doctor she was given a new prescription that only made her feel worse. She was feeling discouraged and hopeless until a friend suggested that menopause may be part of her trouble. She found Women to Women shortly after and can’t get over how great she feels. Here’s what she told us:
“I was on loads of medications! Every time I went to the doctor they would give me something else — something to speed my heart up, then something to slow it down. All the drugs made me constipated, and then they gave me Metamucil. It was one thing on top of another. And I know they were just trying to help, but that approach wasn’t working for me. I was tired all the time, getting migraines two to three times per month and I lived in constant fear of getting arrhythmias. I would wake up in the middle of the night scared I’d get an episode if I got up out of bed.
“And it wasn’t just a skipped beat or two; it was two to six hours of your heart not being in sync, of your chest feeling like jello. I stopped doing things I loved. I used to walk for exercise, and I couldn’t walk anymore. I was exhausted and I thought, I just cannot live this way anymore. I have seven children, and some of them are still at home. And I like to do a lot of things. I don’t like to stop!
“Since I’ve started the Personal Program, I cannot get over how different I feel! I’m walking again and off all the medication I was on. I even had an extremely stressful event last month and did not get an arrhythmia or a migraine. And the Nutritional Guidelines have been wonderful. I’ve lost about 10 pounds and wasn’t even trying! I love the fact that my sugar isn’t dropping. I don’t have those lows anymore.
“My husband can’t tease me about my belly these days, either. After seven kids, it just sort of looked like I was pregnant all the time. Not anymore. All my friends have noticed changes in me too; they’re saying, ‘Wow, you look better!’ And I tell them about the Personal Program. It has really changed me. I could cry right now. I tell everyone. I want to approach strangers on the street and say, ‘you don’t look so good; you need this’. Everyone deserves a fighting chance. Everyone does. I feel like an evangelist for getting better!”
