Ask Emily — thyroid health

QUESTION:

How can I prevent thyroid problems?

ANSWER:

There are lots of ways to prevent thyroid problems, including getting proper nutrition, balancing your hormones and encouraging healthy adrenal glands by reducing stress. Nutrition is probably the most important player when it comes to the thyroid. Poor nutrition impairs thyroid function and can lead to insulin resistance, which is often found to coexist with hypothyroidism.

Having tried everything else under the sun for her menopausal symptoms, she read a few of the Women's Stories and said to herself, "Well, let me just go ahead and do this."
