Ask Emily — menopause

QUESTION:

What symptoms can I expect during menopause?

ANSWER:

In the years surrounding menopause, you can expect a wide range of symptoms. Because each woman is different, there is no set pattern to menopausal symptoms. We do know that many women can experience various combinations of the following: hot flashes, vaginal dryness, irritability or mood swings, feelings of depression, anxiety, fatigue, decreased sexual desire, irregular periods, weight gain, bloating or gas, headaches, joint pain or stiffness.
