Ask Emily — menopause

QUESTION:

What can I do to prevent hot flashes?

ANSWER:

There are several ways to prevent a hot flash. First, we recommend making changes in your diet and nutrition. Eating a balanced diet of whole fresh foods and supplementing your meals with a high quality nutritional supplement can ensure that you have the building materials needed for the proper function of your hormones and neurotransmitters (both involved in hot flashes). Second, we recommend finding ways to reduce your stress and increase your exercise. Studies have shown both of these lifestyle modifications can reduce hot flashes. Third, we recommend gentle endocrine support. Supporting your endocrine system, the system that controls your hormones, with a natural supplement can also help to reduce hot flashes.
