Ask Emily — adrenal fatigue

QUESTION:

Should I have my adrenals tested?

ANSWER:

It depends on how you feel. If you feel happy in general, are getting seven to nine hours of sleep a night, recover well from stress and can maintain a healthy weight without dieting, your adrenal glands are most likely healthy. However, if you’re having trouble sleeping, feel emotionally drained or unstable, find yourself using caffeine or carbohydrates to pick yourself up during the day or can’t seem to lose excess weight, you may benefit from having your adrenals tested.
